What is Data Quality?

Normally measured with six metrics (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, usefulness, and reliability of data) data quality measures the overall fitness of data for its intended use, reflecting its ability to meet the requirements and expectations of stakeholders. A high data quality standard means users can be sure that information is reliable and trustworthy, enabling effective decision-making, analysis, and operations. Product data quality management involves processes such as data cleansing, validation, and enrichment, to detect and correct errors, inconsistencies, and redundancies. It also includes establishing the quality metrics, standards thresholds, and governance frameworks to maintain and improve data integrity throughout its lifecycle.
